Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reveal Nigeria now has 56,604 confirmed cases.
On the 16th of September 2020, 126 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 37,725 samples across the country.
To date, 56,604 cases have been confirmed, 47,872 cases have been discharged and 1,091 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 479,712 tests have been carried out as of September 16th, 2020 compared to 443,987 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 126 new cases were reported from 17 states- FCT (37), Lagos (27), Plateau (16), Kaduna (9), Abia (7), Gombe (6), Ondo (6), Imo (5), Delta (2), Ekiti (2), Kwara (2), Oyo (2), Bauchi (1), Kano (1), Katsina (1), Ogun (1), Yobe (1).
Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 18,723, followed by Abuja (5,488), Oyo (3,223), Plateau (3,158), Edo (2,610), Kaduna (2,305), Rivers (2,208), Delta (1,793), Ogun (1,755), Kano (1,733), Ondo (1,590), Enugu (1,232), Ebonyi (1,034), Kwara (1,004), Katsina (844), Abia (835), Osun (805), Gombe (779), Borno (741), and Bauchi (681).
