Mallam D.S Wali, an icon of Community Pharmacy in Nigeria, is dead. He passed on two months before his 85th birthday, at the Garkuwa Hospital in Kaduna State around 7:00pm yesterday, 21 May 2020, Pharmanewsonline gathered.
Announcing his demise to Pharmanewsonline, Ahmed Tijjani Mora, said :” We regret to inform you that we lost Mall. D.S Wali, FPSN in Kaduna yesterday evening”.
He disclosed that Mall. Wali was born on 23rd July of 1935 in Kano City, and he would have clocked 85 years this July.
“ Myself and a group of pharmacists that authored his biography: D.S WALI-AN ICON OF COMMUNITY PHARMACY PRACTICE IN NIGERIA (2013) have since his 80th birthday in 2015 been organising a birthday anniversary Lecture on every 23rd July since then”, Mora added.
He is survived by his German-born wife, Jutta a son,Ujudud Andreas who practices medicine in Harrisburg,Pennsylvania,USA,and daughter, Hajiya Amina who is married and lives with her husband in Lagos. They have four grandchildren.
His remains would be buried in Kaduna today in accordance with Islamic injunction.
