As institute confers Akpa, Momodu, Dogara, 109 others with Fellowship
In recognition of his contributions to the professional association, the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) has conferred a Life Membership award on Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, managing director of Pharmanews and seven others, just as two other top pharmacists made its Fellowship list at the 2019 Awards, Fellows & Spouses Day Luncheon.
The glitzy ceremony which took place on 22 August 2019 at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos attracted the crème de la crème of the country’s top professionals from all walks of life.
In his welcome address, Prof. Olukunle Iyanda, president of the institute explained that those being conferred with Fellowship grade have successfully survived the painstaking and rigorous scrutiny of their management career and contribution.
“To have been found worthy for the most prestigious grade of Fellow of the NIM is a great honour and recognition of which anyone should be proud. I also congratulate eight of our elder statesmen who were conferred with the Life Membership Award at this ceremony.
“Life membership is conferred on members who have attained the age of 70, financially up-to-date in payment of their subscription and adjudged to have participated and contributed significantly to NIM activities over the years,” he noted.
Aside Atueyi, the remaining seven personalities who bagged Life Membership included Prof. Fola Lasisi, president, Nigeria Academy of Engineering (NAEng); Sir William Eghobamien, pioneer staff, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); Chief (Mrs) Mary Idehen, retired school administrator; Mrs Ijeoma Ohaeri, retired town planner; Mr Felix Ohiwerei, former chairman of Nigerian Breweries Plc; Mr Samuel Odukoya, veteran auditor and Chief Joshua Ogunbayo, former manager of the defunct Nigerian Airways.
In the Fellowship category, two eminent pharmacists, Pharm. (Mrs) Christiana Akpa, general manager / head of medical division, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Dr (Mrs) Rametu Momodu, head, herbal & nutraceuticals, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), made the 112 list.
