BREAKING: FG Approves Import Waiver for Pharmaceuticals, Medical Supplies

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved import waiver for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to support access to healthcare during the pandemic.

In addition to the import waiver, according to the disclosure made by the special assistant to the President on New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, President Muhammadu Buhari has also directed the Nigeria Customs Service to implement expedited clearing of all imported healthcare equipment, medical and pharmaceuticals supplies.

Ogunlesi, via his Twitter handle said: “President @MBuhari has approved a blanket waiver of import duties for medical equipment and supplies, as part of @NigeriaGov’s efforts to strengthen health infrastructure in response to the #COVID19 pandemic.
