The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as at 4:00 pm on Saturday 28th March disclosed that there are eight new cases of the novel Coronavirus in the country making a total of 89 persons infected with the disease.
In a tweet posted on Saturday afternoon, the agency said eight new cases were confirmed in Nigeria: seven in Lagos and one in Benue State.
Currently; Lagos- 59 FCT- 14 Ogun- 3 Enugu- 2 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 3 Edo- 2 Bauchi- 2 Osun-1 Rivers-1 Benue- 1.
There are now around 4,000 cases of coronavirus across Africa. The virus has claimed the lives of Cameroonian afro-jazz pioneer Manu Dibango, Zimbabwean media personality Zororo Makamba and South African traditional healer Credo Mutwa. On Monday, Nelson Mandela’s grandson Ndaba Mandela also announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
