Coronavirus Kills Prominent Warri Doctor in Isolation Centre

A former Zonal Medical Director of the Central Hospital, Warri, Dr Toju Eresanara, has recently died in isolation centre. He reportedly died on Wednesday.

According to the Nation, Eresanara may have died of COVID-19 complications.

Reports show that he was undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 treatment centre in Asaba, after testing positive.

The late medical doctor played a vital role in the reshaping and upgrade of the Central Hospital, Warri.

The deceased was said to have been placed on oxygen for about one week after his condition worsened.

Until his death, he was a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Central Hospital, Warri, Delta State.

Although the state government hasn’t made any official statement on the incident, the Chief Medical Director, Central Hospital, Warri, Dr Paul Okurbo, confirmed the death to Vanguard in Warri.

According to the CMD, who spoke to Vanguard on the telephone, “Today is a very sad day for us. We have lost a very great doctor, who was very dedicated to his patient and his work.”
