Coronavirus: Lagos Set to Increase Healthcare Practitioners’ Salaries

As a means of motivating healthcare professionals, who have been on the frontline since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Lagos State, Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said salaries of health workers in the state would be increased.
The Governor who made the disclosure during a televised media briefing on COVID-19 updates in Lagos on Monday, commended the healthcare team for their commitment in the fight against the lethal virus in the state.

“We are increasing the salaries of all health workers in Lagos,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu however cautioned residents against fears of isolation centres, stating that they are not death centres, rather for treatment of confirmed cases to recover and be discharged.
He said: “Isolation centres are not death centres. It is important for us not to panic but to obey the regulations that have been put in place.”
Regarding the forthcoming Ramadan, the governor pleaded with Muslim faithfuls in the state to obey social distancing during their month of fasting, as well as to avoid gathering above 25 persons.
