COVID-19: Infection Cases Rose to 27 in Nigeria -NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday said number of Coronavirus cases in the country has risen to twenty-seven (27) as at 11am on 22 March 2020, with four new cases in Lagos and one new case in Abuja.

Announcing the update on its website, the NCDC gave the total breakdown of the 27 cases as follows: Lagos 19; FCT 4; Ekiti 1; Oyo 1; and Ogun 2, while two patients are already discharged.

It was also stated that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.

Following the development, majority of churches were seen complying with the directive of the Lagos State Government of not more than 20 gatherings, as many worshipers were locked out of churches to prevent overcrowding.
