The Lagos State government has recorded 191 deaths from 13,346 confirmed cases in the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi made the disclosure via his verified Twitter handle Sunday night.

Giving the COVID-19 update in the state as at 18 July, 2020, he said 54,570 tests have been conducted in the state, with a total of 13,346 confirmed cases.

He further disclosed that 2,141 active cases are in the community, which the state’s team are still trying to locate, while 164 infected persons are being monitored at the isolation centres.

Abayomi said: “2,141 active cases in communities are yet to turn up for admission in #COVID19Lagos care centres.

“164 of the cases are currently under isolation in public and private care centres”.

The health commissioner also noted that 8,781 cases have recovered in the community, while 2069 have been discharged from the various isolation centres in the state.

Meanwhile Nigeria has recorded  11 more deaths on Sunday night, with 556 new infections, making total fatalities from the disease 789, with 36663 confirmed cases.
