COVID-19: Nigeria Records 204 New Cases, 58 Deaths, Total 1932

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced  204 new cases of COVID-19 and increase in fatalities from 51 to 58 deaths.

With the 204 new cases, Nigeria now has a total of 1932 cases, 319 recoveries, and 58 deaths.

Announcing the new cases through its Twitter handle, the NCDC said: “As at 11:50pm 30 April 2020, there are 1932  confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria”.

It also splitted the new cases into states of occurrence as follows: 80-Kano, 45-Lagos,12-Gombe, 9-Bauchi, 9-Sokoto, 7-Borno, 7-Edo, 6-Rivers, 6-Ogun, 4-FCT, 4-Akwa Ibom, 4-Bayelsa, 3-Kaduna, 2-Oyo, 2-Delta, 2-Nasarawa,1-Ondo and 1-Kebbi.

Analysing the new data, NCDC revealed that 71 per cent of all cases are from three states, which are Lagos, kano and FCT, with Kano taking the lead in the newly released report, it automatically displaced FCT, and now emerges second after Lagos, in number of confirmed cases.

The agency tweeted thus: “As at April 30 2020, 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria have recorded at least one confirmed case of #COVID19, while 71% of all cases are from three states”.
