The decrease in Nigeria’s daily record of the novel Coronavirus infection continued Thursday with 124 new confirmed cases.
The lesser infections notwithstanding, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, reported 21 deaths from the deadly disease on Thursday.
It says the new infections were recorded from 13 states of the federation.
While the total toll till date was put at 54588 confirmed cases, with 42627 cases discharged and 1048 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency listed the states with new infections as Lagos 42, FCT 25, Katsina 14, Kaduna 11, Kwara 8, Ondo 7, Delta 4, Anambra 3, Oyo 3, Edo 2, Ogun 2, Osun 2, and Cross River 1.
It said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
On the global scene, over 25 million confirmed cases have been reported while normalcy is gradually returning in some countries has students have resumed with masks in Europe.
Some states in Nigeria are also considering reopening of schools if cases do not rise again .
