Ebonyi Agog as NAIP, Bloom Public Health Unveil Pharmacity

-Ohuabunwa, Anukwu, Anyakora Laud State Govt at Ground-breaking Ceremony

It was an epoch event on Wednesday 3 February, 2021 in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria as the Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP), in conjunction with Bloom Public Health unveiled the premier pharmaceutical manufacturing park in West Africa. Located in the Ntezi community of Ebonyi State and occupying a one hundred hectares of land, the pharmaceutical manufacturing park will be the hub for quality medicine production in the whole of West Africa.

While performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the project also known as Pharmacity, Ebonyi State Governor, Engineer David Umahi, pledged his government’s support for the project and promised to do all within his capacity to ensure that the park is fully actualized.

Also speaking at the well-attended event, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, expressed immense joy for the unveiling of the project. He also thankfully assured the Ebonyi State government of his association’s commitment towards ensuring that the project comes to total fruition.

On his part, National Chairman of the Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria, Pharm. Ignatius Anukwu, expressed profound satisfaction with the outcome of the journey which, according to him, took over one year of negotiations to materialize.

In his remarks, eminent Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and CEO, Bloom Public Health, Chimezie Anyakora, informed the governor that the journey is anything but over and that the commitment of all stakeholders is needed to cross the finish line. He also reminded the community of the immense value and benefits that await them when the park begins operations, adding that the Ntezi Community would soon become a well-known name.
