Ebonyi Gov, Umahi Tests Negative to COVID-19, 4 Weeks After Infection

The Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, was filled with appreciation, Friday, after receiving the result of his latest COVID-19 test which returned negative.

He expressed his gratitude to God and all that supported him while under the affliction of the deadly infection.

Umahi, whose recovering from the disease happened four weeks after being infected was glad to announce his new status via a personally signed statement.

He further revealed that his daughter and three of his aides, who test positve the same time with him have also regained that freedom from the virus.

He disclosed that his daughter and three of his close aides also tested negative for the virus.

Recalls that on 4 July, Governor Umahi announced that he, his daughter and aides tested positive after carrying out the test.

Although he said they were not showing any symptoms, he, however, said they went into isolation in line with protocols laid down by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

This is coming as the NCDC have urged Muslims to celebrate Sallah safely by prayering in smaller units and avoiding crowded gatherings during the festivity.

Emphasising the existence of the virus on surfaces for longer period about 9 hours, the agency charged  Muslims to avoid sharing ablution materials and to also maintain other preventive protocols as laid down by the WHO.
