
The Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its commitment in advancing national health reforms through inter-agency collaboraton and integration of global insights.
The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare made the disclosure at the inaugural International Civil Service Conference held at Eagle Square, Abuja on 25 to 26 June, 2025.
With the conference themed, “Rejuvenate, Innovate, Accelerate!” the event provided a vital platform for the ministry to align with broader public service transformation efforts, gain global insights, and strengthen its commitment to key health sector reforms under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII).
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his speech said that civil servants are an indispensable organ of the government and they are the vehicle through which the government delivers public goods.
He affirmed his administration’s commitment to building a revitalised and effective civil service, and health sector, describing it as “the central platform for delivering national transformation and the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The conference was designed to explore how 21st-century challenges can be tackled through strategic transformation of the public service. It brought together senior officials of various sectors of the ministry which included the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ms Kachollom S. Daju.
Daju expressed her pleasure in attending the conference, highlighting how the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s alignment with the national reform agenda will position the health ministry to benefit from global insights, inter-agency collaboration, and shared innovation.
The knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and technical strategies presented during the two-day event are expected to enhance Nigeria’s public health delivery systems and capacity development frameworks.
