-As Nigeria records second death from Coronavirus

Lagos State Government on Monday discharged five Coronavirus patients at Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba Mainland Hospital.

The patients were discharged on Monday after repeated tests carried out on them showed negative, a proof they have overcome the killer disease.

That brings the total number of discharged patients from the center to eight. The patients, who had been quarantined at the isolation center for weeks, looked stable and unruffled.

Before now, three patients including the Italian index case and two Nigerians had been treated and discharged from the Lagos facility, bringing the total number of recoveries in Nigeria to eight.

Also, the Nigerian Government has confirmed the second death from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

This was announced by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, announced this on Monday at a press briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

This is coming one week after the country recorded its first death from the disease.

According to the latest breakdown by the NCDC, Lagos State leads with 68 cases, followed by 21 in Abuja, Ogun – three, Oyo – seven, Edo – two, Bauchi – two, Enugu – two, Osun – two, while Ekiti, Kaduna, Rivers and Benue states have one case of the infection each.
