Medical practitioners, journalists and other professionsals considered as essential service providers may no longer be allowed to enjoy the privilege of free movement, particularly during the 8pm to 6am curfew, after a directive from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, that professionals under the category were no longer exempted from curfew, and may be arrested if they violate the movement restriction order.

As gathered, Adamu, through a press release, had directed commissioners of police across states where curfew were expected to be in effect, not to exempt any professional found violating the curfew order from been arrested.

The release further directed all commissioners to ensure strict restriction of movement during the curfew and that the action was in line with effort to curtail spread of coronavirus in the country.
