Kwara Government, NMA Meet to Avert Doctors’ Strike

The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency has expressed readiness to support and collaborate with the University College Hospital, Ibadan on research.

The OYSHIA Executive Secretary, Dr. Sola Akande, said this when he received a delegation from the Department of Health Policy and Management, UCH, at the state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The delegation was led by the Head of the Department, Dr. David Adewole.

Akande, who stressed the need for the insurance agency to partner with UCH to publish its research papers in international journals, was optimistic that such collaboration would put the agency on the global map.

The executive secretary noted that health and education are the pillars of human development, saying that collaboration in such areas is a welcome development.

Earlier, Adewole said the department is proud of the achievements recorded by OYSHIA in promoting health insurance in the state.

He commended the agency’s boss for what he has been able to achieve in the health insurance sub-sector of the state, adding that it aligns with the vision of UCH.
