LAUTECH Threatens Mass Burial of Neglected Corpses Over Morgue Decongestion

Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Teaching Hospital(LAUTECH), Osogbo, Osun State has threatened that corpses neglected by their relatives risk being cleared in a mass burial that will be organised soonest.
The hospital equally issued a two-week removal ultimatum of corpses to families and relatives from their morgue.

According to an announcement aired on radio stations in Osun State on Tuesday, LAUTECH Management warned that corpses which are not claimed by relatives within two weeks maybe package for mass burial.

The hospital management also called on the members of the public, especially those who have corpses in the mortuary unit of the hospital to come and remove them within the next two weeks.

“We appeal to relatives who have corpses in the mortuary unit of our hospital to come and remove them. Please it should be noted that decongestion of the morgue is a routine exercise has nothing to do with the current pandemic COVID -19 infection.

“All Bodies not collected within the two weeks of this announcement may be packaged for mass burial.” LAUTECH management announced.
