An executive of a global pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing company, Lotus Group, recently paid a courtesy visit to the corporate head office of Pharmanews Limited, Mende, Maryland.
The Lotus International Business Manager – Huzaifa Shaikh, who came all the way from India to Nigeria, on a fact – finding mission about the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Industry, told the Managing Director, Pharmanews Limited, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, that this was his first time of coming into the country, to gather information about the nation’s pharmaceutical business, which will enhance the establishment of their Nigerian office soonest.
Shaikh explained that his main objective of coming to Nigeria is to expand pharmaceutical facilities in the country, while he mentioned that Lotus Group will be present at the Nigeria Pharma Expo, slated for 28 to 29 August 2019, at booth No. 53, to discuss more on the project requirements.
He further noted that Lotus International is focused on designing, supplying, consulting, engineering and installation of pharmaceutical facilities.
Receiving the Lotus manager, Sir Atueyi appreciated Shaikh for his visit to Pharmanews and for his interest in the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Industry, assuring him of business opportunities in Nigeria, as local pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the country will be willing to leverage Lotus’s quality equipment for better production of drugs and other products.
The Pharmanews boss also advised him to endeavour to attend the forthcoming National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society Nigeria (PSN) which is scheduled to come up from 4 to 9 November 2019, in order for him to meet relevant stakeholders in the industry.
“We don’t have much international manufacturing companies in Nigeria, as the government prefers that we produce our facilities locally,” Atueyi added.
