Mareek Holds 5th Achievers’ Forum, Harps on Personal Effectiveness

Mareek Image Concepts, organiser of the Achievers’ Business Forum has drawn the attention of healthcare practitioners to the importance of developing personal effectiveness, which he described as a very germane factor in actualising one’s goal in life.

Pharm. Sesan Kareem, chief strategist, Mareek Image Concepts and convener, Achievers’ Business Forum, made the remarks while speaking with Pharmanews, at the event, held recently at the Sheraton Hotel Ikeja, Lagos.

The symposium, which had its maiden edition in 2017, was well attended by dignitaries in the industry including: Pharm. (Sir) Ike Onyechi, MD, Alpha Pharmacy and Stores; Mr Niyi Yusuf, managing partner, Verraki Partners; Pharm. Abimbola Adebakin, CEO, Advantage Health Africa; Mr. Omaruaye Ogheneochuko, MD New Heights Pharmaceutical Ltd, and others.

Speaking on the theme of the event “People, technology and profitability, maximizing the opportunities of the new decade”, Kareem said it was carefully chosen to equip, educate, and empower business leaders to transform businesses, within the shortest possible time.

Explaining the term, personal effectiveness, he said it is the ability to utilise all one’s talents, skills, time, energy and ability at one’s disposal in order to be able to master one’s life and achieve both work and life goals, noting that personal effectiveness is the result of personal development.

On how personal effectiveness can further make one a better person, Kareem enumerated getting new knowledge, new skills and a positive attitude to life as key, noting that this explains why successful business leaders were selected for this year’s symposium to share from their wealth of experience with other business leaders and managers.

While endorsing the initiative at the two-day symposium, CEO, Business School Netherlands, Nigeria, Prof. Lere Baale, spoke on the topic “Organisational transformation and understanding the fundamentals”, stating that in order for an organisation to grow, companies should learn to define change, determine roadmap, deploy actions and develop plans.

Baale added that the route to transformation is to engage staff members through leadership skills, team development, and also growing potentials.

He further explained that when you develop your worker’s potentials, you grow their talents and you prepare them for next generation leadership.
