The main hall of the Sheba event centre, Ikeja, Lagos, was filled to capacity on 1 October, 2019 as Pharmanews Ltd., celebrated its 40th anniversary of uninterrupted publication of the journal, Pharmanews, 80th birthday of the publisher, Pharm. (Sir) Ifeanyi Atueyi, and launch of Atueyi’s autobiography, titled “My Life and Pharmanews”.
Although the day was characterized with heavy down pour, but that was not enough distraction for the guests at the programme who trooped in their numbers to felicitate with the octogenarian on his special day.
List of guests that graced the memorable occasion cuts across different groups and association, including Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, chairman of the occasion; Pharm. (Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa, PSN president; Dr Stella Okoli, C.E.O, Emzor Pharmaceutical; Prof. Fola Tayo, pro-chancellor and chairman, Governing Council of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos; Prof. Mbang Femi-Oyewo, chairman, PSN Board of Fellows; Sir Tony Ezenna, chairman, Orange Drugs Group; His Royal Highness, Igwe of Okija Town; Managing directors of pharmaceutical companies, leaders of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International, members of Great Ife Pharmacy Alumni Association, Old Boys Association of Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Anglican priests, relatives of Atueyi, and pharmacists from the various arms of the Society.
The management of Pharmanews Ltd., also seized the occasion to appreciate a total of 50 pharmaceutical companies, who have been supportive to the company from inception, with the presentation of appreciation awards.
While appreciating all present at the event, the celebrant wished them all long life and sound health, as they have dedicated the day to felicitate with him.
