The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), has reiterated its call for applications for the 2020 edition of the May & Baker Professional Service Award, as application closes on 13 September.
Disclosing this in a document made available to Pharmanewsonline, the National Secretary, PSN, Pharm. Emeka Duru, on behalf of the May & Baker Professional Service Award Committee, noted that all financial members of the Society are eligible to apply by submitting their names and CVs, or that of their nominees worthy to be a recipient of the award.
According to him, the May & Baker Professional Service Award in Pharmacy was instituted in 2005 by May & Baker Nigeria Plc to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions in the practice of Pharmacy as well as rewarding excellence and innovation in the practice in Nigeria.
To qualify for the award which comes with a cash prize of N500, 000, he said applicants must complete a designated form, which is available at the Pharmacy House in Lagos.
In addition to the cash prize, Duru said the winner is also entitled to a passage allowance to enable him/her attend the National Conference of the PSN to receive the award.
He specifically noted that applicants must clearly and distinctly indicate their innovative work, leadership position, achievements, awards received, both locally and internationally, academic qualifications, professional qualification, and competence, service in the community, or charitable organizations, as well as philanthropic projects that are undertaken, among others.
He however warned that irrelevant documents will not be reviewed and may cause loss of points, while applicants may be required to appear before the award selection committee to clarify some of their claims.
