Pharmacist (Mrs) Titilayo Onedo is the deputy director of pharmacy at the Burns and Plastic/Critical Care pharmacy unit of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi (NOHI) Lagos. She is also the chairperson of the Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN), Lagos State branch.
A native of Ilaro, in Ogun State, Onedo had her elementary education at Lagos Anglican Girls Primary School, Surulere, Lagos. She attended Government College, Agege, Lagos, for her secondary education.
Thereafter, she proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she bagged her first degree in Pharmacy. She forged ahead to obtain her master’s degree in Clinical and Biopharmacy from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos.
Onedo has consistently distinguished herself at the NOHI through the various innovations she introduced in her department for effective healthcare service delivery to patients. She designed, developed and successfully implemented pharmaceutical care for patients infected with tuberculosis of the musculoskeletal system, who presented to the NOHI.
She also pioneered pharmacists-patients counselling at the hospital, while also being a foundational member of the unit responsible for the weekly training of pharmacists in the hospital.
An assiduous Onedo initiated and implemented the publishing of the maiden edition of the Pharmacy Department Newsletter. She also designed and conducted drug utilisation studies for the drug and therapeutic committee of the hospital.
A preceptor for pharmacy residents and undergraduates, Onedo’s professional affiliations span across Nigeria and abroad. She is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP); member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria; past secretary, Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN), past treasurer, Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALPs); member, American College of Clinical Pharmacy; member, Commonwealth of Pharmacists Association; and member, European Society of Clinical Pharmacists.
Onedo has served the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in several capacities at both state and national levels. She is married to Pharm. Grant Onedo and the marriage is blessed with three children.
