The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has announced the passing away of the Chairman, Governing Council, Hon. Inuwa Abdul-Kadir, on Monday.

Sources close to the late NAFDAC chairman said he died of COVID-19 complications.
Confirming his demise to Pharmanewsonline, the Personal Assistant to the NAFDAC DG, Mr Lolade Onaolapo revealed that Abdul-Kadir died in the early hours of Monday.

When asked whether his death was COVID-19 related, Onaolapo noted that he was not sure, as he was still gathering information about the incident.

He said: “Sadly it is true, he died this morning. I don’t know the cause of his death, as I’m still gathering information”.

NAFDAC is a federal agency under the Federal Ministry of Health that is responsible for regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, advertisement, distribution, sale and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals and packaged water in Nigeria.
