The Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas, Inc. (NAPPSA) in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMG-MAN), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and others, has scheduled its maiden International API-Excipients Scientific Workshop & Exposition to hold from 1 to 3 August, 2023, at the Jelili Omotola Hall C of the University of Lagos, Yaba.
The workshop themed, “Enabling local manufacturing and testing of APIs, excipients and drug products”, will feature seasoned scientists like Prof. Nkere K. Ebube, co-chair, NAPPSA API-Excipient Focus Group; Prof. Adeboye Adejare, co-chair, NAPPSA API-Excipient Focus Group; Dr Peter Obi Adigwe, DG, NIPRD; Prof. Maurice Iwu, Bioresources Development Group; Prof. Isa Odidi, CEO & chairman of the Board, Intellipharmaceutics International, Canada; Prof. Christiana Moji Adeyeye, DG, NAFDAC; and others as speakers.
Special Guest of Honour at the 3-Day symposium will be the Hon. Minister of Health, with the duo of Prof. Ahmed T. Mora and Dr Teresa I. Pounds, as hosts.
Expected participants at the scientific workshop are scientists from the pharmaceutical industry – NAIP, PMG-MAN, research institutes- NIPRD, regulatory agencies – PCN, NAFDAC, FMoH, academia, and others involved in manufacturing, testing, distribution, and quality assurance of APIs and excipients, etc.
