Nigeria Records 197 New Coronavirus Cases with 5 Deaths

On the 10th of September 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has said 197 new confirmed cases and five deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 2,494 samples across the country.

To date, 55,829 cases have been confirmed, 43,810 cases have been discharged and 1,075 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 433,206 tests have been carried out as of September 10th, 2020 compared to 430,712 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 197 new cases were reported from 13 states- Plateau (83), Lagos (48), Kaduna (17), FCT (16), Ogun (11), Katsina (7), Imo (4), Edo (3), Nasarawa (3), Rivers (2), Bayelsa (1), Oyo (1), Osun (1).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 18,504, followed by Abuja (5,391), Oyo (3,210), Plateau (3,037), Edo (2,606), Kaduna (2,231), Rivers (2,197), Delta (1,780), Kano (1,728), Ogun (1,726), Ondo (1,575), Enugu (1,198), Ebonyi (1,034), Kwara (989), Katsina (826), Abia (816), Osun (804), Gombe (746), Borno (741), and Bauchi (671).
