Nigeria Records 252 New Coronavirus Cases with Three Deaths

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update posted on its website, said there were 252 new cases taking the total number of recorded cases to 52,800, NCDC said these had led to 1007 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Making the disclosure via its Twitter handle, the NCDC said: “As at 11:10 pm 25th of August 2020, 601 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

On the 25th of August 2020, 252 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 3,588 samples across the country.

To date, 52,800 cases have been confirmed, 39,964 cases have been discharged and 1,007 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 383,130 tests have been carried out as of August 24th, 2020 compared to 379,542 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 252 new cases were reported from 18 states- Plateau (50), Enugu (35), Rivers (27), Lagos (26), FCT (18), Kaduna (18), Ekiti (10), Kano (10), Taraba (9), Anambra (8), Edo (8), Oyo (8), Delta (7), Ogun (6), Abia (5), Bayelsa (5), Ebonyi (1), Osun (1).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 18,018, followed by Abuja (5,046), Oyo (3,058), Edo (2,553), Plateau (2,185), Rivers (2,090), Kaduna (2,059), Kano (1,721), Delta (1,715), Ogun (1,631), Ondo (1,515), Enugu (1,087), Ebonyi (965), Kwara (936), Katsina (771), Osun (769), Abia (755), Borno (740), Gombe (714), and Bauchi (644).
