Nigeria Records 386 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19, 4 Deaths, Total 43,537

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update posted on its website, said there were 386 new cases taking the total number of recorded cases to 43,537, NCDC said these had led to 883 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Making the disclosure via its Twitter handle, the NCDC said: “As at 11:45 pm 1st of August 2020, 386 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

According to the Agency, 43,537 cases have been confirmed, 20,087 cases have been discharged and 883 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 283,916 tests have been carried out as of August 1st, 2020 compared to 279,675 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, The 386 new cases were reported from 18 states- FCT (130), Lagos (65), Ondo (37), Osun (29), Plateau (23), Rivers (15), Enugu (14), Nasarawa (12), Bayelsa (11), Ebonyi (11), Ekiti (9), Oyo (8), Edo (8), Abia (6), Ogun (3), Katsina (3), Imo (1), Adamawa (1).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 15,186, followed by Abuja (3,933), Oyo (2,768), Edo (2,300), Rivers (1,806), Kano (1,597), Delta (1,510), Kaduna (1,457), Ogun (1,192, Plateau (1,188), Ondo (1,155), Enugu (807), Ebonyi (785), Kwara (753), Katsina (745), Borno (613), Gombe (607), Bauchi (560), Abia (545), and Osun (524).
