Nigeria Records 481 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19, 5 Deaths, Total 42,609

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update posted on its website, said there were 481 new cases taking the total number of recorded cases to 42,609, NCDC said these had led to 878 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Making the disclosure via its Twitter handle, the NCDC said: “As at 11:45 pm 30th July 2020, there are 42,609 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 3,305 samples across the country”.

According to the Agency, a total number of 276,053 tests have been carried out as of July 30th, 2020 compared to 272,748  tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 481 new cases were reported from 15 states- FCT (96), Lagos (89), Plateau (68), Ogun (49), Edo (44), Rivers (43), Oyo (25), Osun (23), Delta (15), Enugu (11), Kano (7), Kaduna (7), Bauchi (2), Bayelsa (1), Yobe (1)

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 15,043, followed by Abuja (3,710), Oyo (2,713), Edo (2,285), Rivers (1,782), Kano (1,591), Delta (1,501), Kaduna (1,403), Ogun (1,385), Plateau (1,124), Ondo (1,123), Enugu (801), Ebonyi (785), Kwara (753), Katsina (742), Borno (613), Gombe (607), Abia (545), Bauchi (541), and Osun (523).
