Nigeria Records 624 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19, 8 Deaths, Total 41,804

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update posted on its website, said there were 624 new cases taking the total number of recorded cases to 41,804, NCDC said these had led to 868 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

On the 28th of July 2020, 624 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 1,519 samples across the country.

According to the Agency, a total of 267,842 tests have been carried out as of July 28th, 2020 compared to 266,323 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 624 new cases were reported from 18 states- Lagos (212), Oyo (69), Niger (49), Kano (37), Osun (37), FCT (35), Plateau (34), Gombe (33), Edo (28), Enugu (28), Ebonyi (17), Delta (10), Katsina (9), Ogun (8), Rivers (7), Ondo (5), Kaduna (4), Nasarawa (2).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 14,848, followed by Abuja (3,560), Oyo (2,668), Edo (2,212), Rivers (1,691), Kano (1,566), Delta (1,483), Kaduna (1,390), Ogun (1,326), Ondo (1,108), Plateau (1,016), Ebonyi (776), Enugu (769), Kwara (749), Katsina (742), Borno (612), Gombe (607), Abia (545), Bauchi (539), and Osun (500).
