Nigeria Records 653 New Confirmed Cases of COVID-19, 6 Deaths, Total 36,107

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its daily update posted on its website, said there were 653 new cases taking the total number of recorded cases to 36,107 NCDC said these had led to 778 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

On the 18th of July 2020, 653 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, having carried out a total daily test of 4,325 samples across the country.

According to the Agency, a total of 206,422 tests have been carried out as of July 18th, 2020.

According to the NCDC, the 653 new cases were reported from 28 states- Lagos (115), Kwara (85), Enugu (80), FCT (78), Rivers (36), Ondo (35), Oyo (30), Katsina (28), Kaduna 19), Abia (19), Nasarawa (18), Plateau (17), Imo (16), Ogun (9), Ebonyi (9), Benue (9), Kano (9), Delta (8), Bauchi (7), Ekiti (6), Gombe (4), Bayelsa(4), Adamawa(4), Osun(4), Cross River(1), Yobe(1), Borno(1), Zamfara(1).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 13,341, followed by Abuja (2,957), Oyo (2,106), Edo (1,885), Rivers (1,516), Delta (1,423), Kano (1,395), Ogun (1,168), Kaduna (1,118), Ondo (912), Katsina (697), Enugu (675), Ebonyi (655), Plateau (620), Borno (598), Gombe (544), Kwara (535), Bauchi (529), Abia (479), Imo (452).
