Nominations Open for 2025 Young Pharmacist of the Year Award

Pharmanews Limited is excited to announce the kickoff of the nomination process for the seventh edition of the Young Pharmacist of the Year Award—an online-based recognition designed to celebrate outstanding young pharmacists who have shown exceptional commitment to improving public healthcare in their communities.

Since its inception in 2018, the award has highlighted the innovative efforts of young professionals in pharmacy who are driving change through advocacy, research, and community outreach. Past winners include Pharm. Isa Muhammad (2018), Pharm. Frank Eze (2019), Pharm. Dan Eze (2020), Pharm. Ozioma Onyedikachukwu Ezeofor (2022), Pharm. Uwem O. Ebong (2023), and Pharm. Hashidu Danjuma Aminu (2024).

To be eligible for this prestigious award, a nominee must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a registered pharmacist in Nigeria
  • Must be a young pharmacist not older than 35 years of age
  • Must be actively involved in public health advocacy
  • Must have demonstrated innovation in healthcare delivery
  • Must have been engaged in drug research and development – especially towards combatting any infectious disease
  • Must have personally undertaken other community development activities

Nominations are to be submitted as comments under the official post. After the nomination phase, a dedicated screening panel will conduct background checks on the most-nominated individuals. Qualified nominees will be shortlisted for an online voting poll, and the individual with the highest number of votes will emerge as the winner of the 2025 Young Pharmacist of the Year Award.

Please note that previous winners are not eligible for nomination.

Nominations close on Tuesday, 18 November 2025 at 12 noon.
