Pharm. Isaac Olufunminiyi

Pharm. Isaac Olufunminiyi is a distinguished pharmacist, administrator, and entrepreneur, whose contributions to the pharmacy profession span over two decades. A man of unwavering dedication, he has played significant roles in both professional and community service, earning numerous accolades along the way.

Born nearly five decades ago, he earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree from OAU in May 2000 before proceeding to his internship with the Lagos State Hospital Management Board. He then fulfilled his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year at the Army Reference Hospital, gaining valuable experience in hospital pharmacy practice.

His professional career took off in 2002 when he joined Reals Pharmaceuticals, where he worked diligently until January 2007. With a vision to build a legacy in community pharmacy, he founded Datito Pharmacy Limited, which later evolved into De Omega Healthcare Pharmacy Limited. Today, De Omega Pharmacy operates five premises, reflecting his commitment to expanding access to quality pharmaceutical care.

Olufunminiyi has been a strong force within the pharmaceutical community, holding several leadership positions over the years. His service includes past assistant secretary of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Lagos State; past secretary of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Committee (PIC), Lagos State; and past secretary, vice coordinator, and zonal coordinator of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), IDEA Zone. He has also served on multiple committees within both ACPN and PSN at state and national levels, contributing to policy formulation and professional development.

His outstanding contributions to the pharmacy profession have been recognised with several prestigious awards, including the Merit Award – PSN, Lagos; Distinguished Pharmacist Award – PSN, Lagos; Distinguished Award – PSN, Osun State; and the DCPharm Award – ACPN, National. A firm believer in continuous learning, Olufunminiyi has attended several high-profile professional development programmes, including international sales training sessions and management training at Tom Associates, equipping himself with the skills to drive excellence in pharmaceutical practice.

Beyond pharmacy, Olufunminiyi is deeply committed to his faith. He serves as a zonal pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Lagos Province 7, where he leads a vibrant congregation of 800 members, offering spiritual guidance and mentorship. He currently serves as the Financial Secretary of ACPN, Lagos State, further demonstrating his dedication to the advancement of pharmacy practice in Nigeria.

Despite his demanding schedule, he finds solace in meditation, a practice that keeps him centred and focused on his mission. Through his unwavering commitment to Pharmacy, leadership, and service, Pharm. Isaac Olufunminiyi continues to be an inspiration to colleagues and the younger generation of pharmacists.
