The Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN) has announced its strategic partnership with GSI Nigeria with the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC).
The Registrar, Pharm. Babashehu Ahmed emphasised the significance of this partnership as it will support and enhance the implementation of traceable medicines within the supply chain and the agency’s desire to strengthen deployment of technology to drive regulations and improve pharmacy practice in the country.
Ahmed disclosed this in a statement made available to pharmanewsonline, stating that the collaboration will a great deal enhance the track and trace drive of the council.
In a similar development, he also mentioned the council has signed another MoC with DKT Nigeria, towards boosting pharmacists’ capacity in family planning services.
The collaboration, he said aims to strengthen the capacity of community pharmacists (CPs) and Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) in the provision of family planning services, as well as to enhance access to quality family planning and reproductive health products.
Ahmed further hinted on other activities of the council, including a strategy session with the PSN Foundation to discuss various collaborative projects, aligning timelines and milestones, identifying potential challenges, and developing practical solutions.
He mentioned the council’s meeting with other partners in promoting safe motherhood, such as the Promoting Accreditation for community Health Service (PACS) project team and their funder, MSD for Mothers.
