To facilitate smooth running of the day to day activities of the Pharmacists’ Affairs Group, the administrators of the group have appointed a 7-Man Board of Administrators, led by Pharm. Abiodun Ajibade, as chairman/founder.

Pharmacists’ Affairs is an online platform established in 2018 after the Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, (PSN) Oluyole 2018 in Ibadan, Oyo State, from a need that was ironically an offshoot of the conference.

The WhatsApp groups were specifically designed to help conference delegates navigate their way around Ibadan, thus helping a lot of the first timers not to be left without a guide and support throughout their stay in Ibadan during the conference.

The platforms also afforded opportunity for interaction, engagements at any level and discussions on issues, thereby promoting Pharmacy advancement.

However, to sustain the usefulness of the platforms after the conclusion of the conference, the founder crafted other purposes for the groups such as promotion of harmony, dissemination of information across all pharmacists’ interest groups as well as pharmacists’ oriented engagements.

Thus, in formalizing the operations of the group, the administrators at the weekend appointed a Board of Administrators as follows: Chairman/Founder, Board of Admins, Pharm. Abiodun Ajibade; Vice-Chairman, Pharm. Foluke Akinniranye; Secretary, Dr Michael Durowaiye; Admin.,Logistics, Pharm. Gbenga Olubowale; Admin., Finance, Pharm. Titilayo Onedo;  Admin., Public relations, Pharm Isa Muhammad and  Admin., Special Duties, Pharm. Richard Ladapo.

Speaking with Pharmanewsonline shortly after his appointment, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Pharm. Isa Muhammad expressed his delight to serve the group in that capacity.

He hinted on the first major activity of the group as the Pharmacists’ Affairs Group Innovation Award 2018 (PAGIA 2018) which was a platform to showcase award and nurture into fruition, the innovative ideas among pharmacists to improve the practice environment in Nigeria.

“This PAGIA became an annual programme of Pharmacists’ Affairs thereafter and had its third edition in December 2020.

“PAGIA then birthed Pharmacists’ Affairs Group Entrepreneurial College (PAGEC) in July 2020 as a training programme to improve entrepreneurial capacity of pharmacists.

“These two programmes have from inception, enjoyed support from a lot of pharmacists who have seen the platform as a veritable way to pay back to the Pharmacy profession”, he stated.

He further explained that prior to this appointment, the activities of the platforms have been shouldered by many pharmacists who continually contribute their strong commitment to the success of Pharmacists’ Affairs.
