– As Over 5000 Pharmacists Set to Elect Usifoh’s Successor, Others
The long awaited elections for the next president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Publicity Secretary, and unofficial members will happen on Friday, 8 November, 2024.
As of Thursday afternoon, 7 November, the Ibom Hall, venue of the ongoing 97th Annual Conference of the PSN was already bubbling.
Other 5,000 pharmacists are participating in the conference. And majority of them, if not all, are expected to vote on Friday.
As of the time of this report and even earlier before now, the banners of the three candidates vying for the seat of the PSN president are conspicuously displayed at strategic positions of the spacious Ibom Hall premises.
Fliers and many categories of souvenirs are currently flying around.
The presidential candidates, Pharm Joel Adagadzu, PhD; Pharm. (Dr) Ejiro Foyibo and Pharm. Ibrahim Tanko Ajuba are also ready to slug it out against one another, even as pharmacists are anticipating hitch free election.
A pharmacist, who simply identified himself as Issac from one of the South East states said he's ready to vote on Friday. He expressed confidence that his candidate, whom he mentioned his name, will be the next president of PSN.
Another lady pharmacist from Akwa Ibom State, who also surprisingly mentioned her presidential candidate,
expressed optimism that her candidate will be victorious.
As the clock is tickling, the question that needs an answer is who will take the mantle on Friday night? Will it be Pharm. Adagadzu? Will it be Pharm. Ayuba? Or will it be Pharm. Foyibo?
Definite answer to this question will be provided at the PSN dinner on Friday.
We want the best candidate to win for the image and future of our noble profession
