Pharm.(Chief) Bioku Rahamon Jimoh,CEO of Bioraj Pharmaceuticals Limited in Ilorin, Kwara State, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Board for the University of Ibadan’s Centre for Drug Discovery, Development, and Production (CDDDP).
His appointment was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale and will begin once the board is inaugurated.
The Kishi-born industrialist’s tenure will last for four years. During this time, he will play an important role in guiding the centre towards its goals of discovering and developing new drugs, working with the pharmaceutical industry, and facilitating clinical trials.
As an alumnus of the University of Ibadan and Chief Bobajiro of Kishiland, Pharm. Jimoh’s return to his alma mater in this role is set to have a big impact on the centre and its mission.
The university’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, G.O. Saliu, congratulated the Bioraj’s boss on his new role. They expressed confidence in his ability to meet the goals of the position. His leadership is expected to drive the centre forward, helping to generate funds and create positive relationships within the pharmaceutical industry.
The wider community of the institution congratulates Pharm. Jimoh, who is also the National President of the Kishi Progressive Union, and President of the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN), Kwara and Kogi States Chapter.
The university management, through the appointment letter, anticipates positive changes and advancements under his guidance and wishes him great success in his new role.
