UNIBEN Honours Usifoh, Enebeli, as Heroes of Healthcare

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has recently honoured the President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria(PSN) Professor Cyril Usifoh; Pharm.Paul  Enebeli, chairman, New Heights Pharmaceuticals and other worthy alumni as heroes of the distinguished university at 50.

The event, graced by prominent and distinguished alumni of UNIBEN from all walks of life saw the decoration of these personalities as UNIBEN heroes for their unrelenting contributions to the growth and advancement of the institution.

In their welcome addresses, the Pro Chancellor, Olorogun Sunny Kuku and Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami extolled the awardees for their contributions towards the progress made by the institution in the last forty years and more. They urged all alumni to return to their alma mater and partake in further development.

Appreciating Pharm. Enebeli, the duo said he has been instrumental to the development of the institution, in various ways including his chairmanship of the UNIBEN Integrated Enterprises, where he set unmatched standards for the generation and prudent management of revenue for the institution.

“Also, during his time as President Worldwide, University of Benin Alumni Association, he expanded the frontiers of alumni engagements with the university authorities to recognise the Alumni President as a permanent member of the University Governing Council for seamless synergy for the development of the institution,” they noted.

Prof. Usifoh on his part was also awarded the Excellence and Productivity Award for his outstanding contributions to the growth and advancement of the university.

For all the recipients of the UNIBEN Heroes Awards/Excellence and Productivity Awards, Sunny Kuku said, it was an honour well deserved.

In appreciation for the honour and award, the recipients donated princely amounts of money and pledged to expand the infrastructural base of the institution.
