A distinguished alumnus of the University of Benin, Usuemerai has demonstrated exceptional leadership and groundbreaking innovation in the pharmaceutical field. Since his graduation in 2016, he has mentored over 25 Pharmacy graduates from the university, many of whom have gone on to make remarkable strides in their careers. His pioneering efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in improving access to scarce life-saving therapeutics, further cemented his reputation as a key figure in the industry.

Speaking with the awardee shortly after the award presentation, Usuemerai expressed deep gratitude for the honour, “COVID-19 presented unprecedented challenges that demanded resilience, innovation, and a commitment to equitable healthcare,” he reflected. “Receiving the PANS Honorary Award from my alma mater is profoundly rewarding and a testament to the collaborative spirit that drives progress in healthcare. Having been out of the country for a year, it is truly gratifying to see that my contributions during the pandemic are still being acknowledged.”
