UNILORIN PANS Hosts PSN President at Freshers’ Orientation

The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS) University of Ilorin, (Unilorin) Chapter, recently held its freshers’ orientation ceremony in style, with the President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Pharm.(Mazi) Sam Ohuabunwa in attendance among other dignitaries.

The orientation ceremony was organised to educate and motivate 100 level and 200 level new intakes on the prestige of the profession, the need to study hard to meet challenges and most especially to avail themselves opportunities within and after school.

Themed “Excelling in Pharmacy school and beyond”, Ohuabunwa spoke extensively on entrepreneurship among students. He said there is need for a change in Nigeria and the country really needs to do better, particularly for its younger citizens.

The PSN President commended the students for their efforts in putting the programme together, especially Melody Okereke and Yusuf Babatunde, the faculty president and vice-president, for their incredible work and brilliant performances. He was presented with a beautiful portrait as an appreciation for his presence at the event by the faculty.

Other speakers who graced the occasion are Dr M.O Amali, the Dean of the faculty; Pharm. Bola Okeowo; Pharm. Juwon Otelaja, PSN chairman, Kwara State; Pharm. Munir Elenu, PSN deputy president.
