Dr Ibrahim Wada, Founder, Nisa Medical Group has urged presidential candidates in the 2023 elections and other politicians to use home grown social media applications for campaigns.
He said this in Abuja, while unveiling a social media application called Ayema.
Wada, who was the Chairman of the occasion, said it was important to encourage homegrown talents like Ayema to enable it compete globally.
He also appealed to ministers and other well meaning Nigerians to encourage local content like Ayema, which he said was capable of tackling the unemployment problem.
“I appeal to all presidential candidates to communicate with the Nigerian social media platforms,especially Ayema.
“I also appeal to ministers to join Ayema, especially, the Minister of Communication because it is our own.
“This is what makes countries proud in international communities and Nigeria must not be left out.
“So let us all encourage this young talent by downloading the app, which can deliver as much as the well known social media applications.
“Let this discovery from this part of the world be known around the world through our patronage,” he said.
Wada, who also represented former Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada at the event, encouraged youths to pursue their dreams.
He described the founder of Ayema as a dedicated youth, who did not allow the circumstance of his birth to deter him.
He said, “there are lessons from the founder’s life apart from inaugurating Ayema which is a global brand.
“He started from a humble background but did not allow that to limit him.
“So, I enjoin all Nigerians with vision to pursue them because we are all given vision.
“What is important is for us not to be distracted from our visions,” he said.
While citing several instances of great men and women, who overcame their fears to become icons, the chairman, said, there were alot of talents in Nigeria that could be nourished.
“Yusuf Shuaib, the founder of Ayema, used the rod in his hands to strike the waters and today a new chapter has been inaugurated in his life.
“This social media app stands where other global brands stand and this shows that there is so much energy in us to cover the world,” he said.
Wada expressed optimism that Ayema would be as popular as other known brands in the world.
Mr Yusuf Shuaib, founder of Ayema, said one of the unique selling points of the application was that it could be used to generate reports from business transactions.
The Ayema founder said the application was user friendly, could be used to advertise products and services, lifestreaming and had the capacity to connect the world.
He further said that the application was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) and trade marked by the relevant authority.
“This dream that is being unveiled today started five years ago and I am happy that Nigeria is once more launching into the world.
“The application, which can be downloaded on Google Play Store promotes local content.
“It is an indigenous firm that understands our specifications as Nigerians.
“It is a local content and it is original,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the National Productivity Centre, which was represented at the event, announced that it had adopted Ayema as its official social media platform.
NAN also reports that the event was graced by former governors, lawmakers and other dignitaries, who promised to use their networks to encourage the use of Ayema. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
