COVID- 19: 325 Chinese Nationals Evacuated From Nigeria due to the Pandemic

Due to the current pandemic in the country, China has evacuated 325 of her citizens from Nigeria through an Air Peace flight that was scheduled to depart at 10:05 pm on Thursday.
Nigerian government has also evacuated some Nigerians from other countries back home.

France, the UK, and the US are among the countries that have also evacuated their nationals from Nigeria since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.


A Lebanese living in Nigeria, Samir El-Khodari, has also revealed that 25 out of the recently evacuated Lebanese nationals from Kano State have tested positive for COVID -19.

According to him, of the 125 Lebanese transported to Beirut from Kano, 25 tested positive for COVID-19.

The number represents one-fifth of those evacuated from the northwest state by the Lebanese government.

As of Thursday evening, Nigeria had reported 8,915 cases of the novel Coronavirus with 259 deaths.

The virus was first reported in China in December 2019 and the country has reported at least 82,000 cases with more than 4,000 deaths
