Nasarawa State has recorded the highest number of eligible population vaccinated in the
ongoing COVID-19 mass vaccination campaign.
NPHCDA reports that the top five performing states are – Nasarawa, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Ogun.
The health agency made this disclosure from its COVID-19 Vaccination update on Monday, 15 August, 2022, via its official Twitter handle.
According to the report, 36 states of the Federation have been either fully vaccinated or
partially vaccinated.
The percentages of eligible population in states that have been fully vaccinated are: Nasarawa (107%), Jigawa (97%), Kano (68%), Kaduna (55%), Osun (43%), Kwara (38%), Adamawa (38%), Plateau (30%), Gombe (29%), FCT (29%), Ogun (28%), Zamfara (26%), Ekiti (23%), Lagos (20%), Oyo (19%), Enugu (17%), Katsina (15%), Yobe (14%), Abia (14%), Sokoto (14%), Benue (14%), Delta (14%), Kebbi (13%), Cross River (13%), Taraba (13%), Borno (12%), Anambra (12%), Niger (11%), Imo (11%), Ondo (10%), Bauchi (10%), Rivers (8%), Akwa Ibom (7%), Kogi (6%), Edo (6%), Ebonyi (5%), and Bayelsa (3%)
The percentages of eligible population in states that have been partially vaccinated are:
Nasarawa (22%), Jigawa (30%), Kano (39%), Kaduna (14%), Osun (13%), Kwara (9%), Adamawa (6%), Plateau (5%), Gombe (7%), FCT (12%), Ogun (10%), Zamfara (18%), Ekiti (13%), Lagos (6%), Oyo (9%), Enugu (6%), Katsina (9%), Abia (3%), Benue (7%), Delta (6%), Cross River (7%), Taraba (8%), Borno (5%), Anambra (4%), Niger (7%), Imo (3%), Ondo (6%), Bauchi (6%)
The agency made it known that the percentage of target population vaccinated may exceed
100% due to the use of population estimates.
In addition, the report also revealed that Gombe is currently vaccinating 65% of its daily
expected number of eligible persons and Adamawa is the leading state in North-East Zone
based on second dose performance – 7 th position in the world.
Overall, 25% of eligible persons in Nigeria are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
