In support of the frontline ‘warriors' at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba, and other staff members caring for the COVID-19 patients, the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently donated packs of hand sanitizers for use at the tertiary health institution.
Speaking at the presentation of the hand sanitizers, the Dean, Prof. (Mrs) Glory Ajayi, accompanied by other management team of the faculty of Pharmacy, said the donation was on behalf of the Vice- Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe FAS, the management and the entire University of Lagos community, to the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chris Bode and the management of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos.
She explained that the presentation of the hand sanitizers (gel and solution formulations) produced by the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, UNILAG, was to identify with LUTH and by extension, the Lagos State and the nation in support of the courageous and patriotic fight against COVID –19 pandemic and for use by the frontline ‘warriors' in the hospital healthcare team and other staff members caring for the COVID-19 patients.
Ajayi said:”This is a sacrifice that the University believes will be useful at this trying and difficult times and prayed that God will terminate both the spread of the virus and the infections in human lives in Jesus name, Amen”.
Receiving the items, the LUTH's CMD deeply appreciated their kind gesture, and expressed his gratitude to the Vice- Chancellor and the entire University of Lagos community.
