Izukanne Emembolu, a female student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, in Anambra State, has emerged winner of the 2020 Pharmanews PANSite of the Year Online Poll.

Emembolu, came first in the very keen online contest with a total of 7575 votes, to defeat other contestants of Victor Osundele with 7244 votes; Yusuf Babatunde, with 349 votes; Joan Kuyet Solomon, who polled 254 votes and Aminu Muhammed Bello, with 157 votes.

The Online Poll which lasted for twenty-three days, was initially scheduled to end on Monday night, but due to the two leading candidates ending with a draw, the competition was extended till Wednesday night, which saw Izukanne emergence as the winner.

Congratulating the winner for her success at the poll, the Publisher of Pharmanews, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi will be presenting the award to her, on a date to be announced later.

The Pharmanews boss has also encouraged other candidates who could not make it this time to continue advancing the course of public health in their various domains, with the hope to emerge next winners.

Recall Pharmanewonline.com commenced the Online Poll for Pharmacy students in April 2019, which saw Yusuf Hassan Wada, a student of Usmanu Danfodiyo University as the winner.

Other contestants who participated in the maiden edition of the poll were: Kenneth B. David; Christy Alagbe; Adebisi Yusuff Adebayo; Melody Okereke; and Jesujoba Ojelabi.
