As the call to prayer echoes at sunset and families gather to break their fast, the burden of Iftar has been lifted across many northern communities as Nestlé Nigeria launches a 30-day Ramadan gifting campaign.

Ramadan is regarded as the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, marking the period when Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad. It is observed worldwide as a season of fasting, prayer, reflection, and charity. In Nigeria, many families and mosques rely on donations to provide Iftar meals for worshippers and vulnerable members of society, particularly amid prevailing economic challenges that continue to strain household incomes.

In a release made available to Pharmanewsonline, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Nestle Nigeria, Tolu Egbebi, addressed that this initiative is designed to reflect the values of compassion, unity, and shared responsibility that define Ramadan.

In light of this, the campaign will involve the donation of over one million customised MILO cups, over one thousand cartons of MILO products, and essential Iftar items such as prayer mats, prayer kettles, and plastic buckets to those in need in several northern states through religious and community leaders.

Speaking at the launch, the Category Manager for Beverages at Nestlé, Gilbert Tweneboah-Koduah, said the initiative reflects the company’s dedication to building meaningful connections with consumers. “Executing this initiative during Ramadan reflects our commitment to deepening our connection with our consumers. By providing essential items for Iftar, we are supporting families and aligning our actions with the values of care and compassion,” he said.

The Chairman of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Ibrahim Shehi Mai Hula, also commended the effort, noting that the intervention would strengthen outreach during the fasting period. “It’s great to see MILO, a brand we trust, go beyond commercial sales to support those in need during Ramadan. Their donation is helping us reach more people, and we are grateful for their generosity,” he said.

Beyond the Ramadan outreach, Nestlé Nigeria continues to invest in youth-focused and community-based initiatives such as MILO Building Champs, the MILO Building Champs Sports Fest, and the MILO Basketball Championship, reinforcing its long-term commitment to nutrition, wellness, and youth development across the country and the Ramadan gifting campaign is part of its broader vision to unlock the power of food to enhance quality of life for individuals and families nationwide.
