Nigeria Records 543 new Cases of COVID-19, 813 Fatalities, Total 38,344

The Nigeria centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has just announced 543 new cases of COVID-19 and increase in fatalities from 805 to 813, having carried out a total daily test of 29,602 samples across the country.

To date, 38,344 cases have been confirmed, 15,815 cases have been discharged and 813 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. A total of 247,825 tests have been carried out as of July 22th, 2020 compared to 218,223 tests a day earlier.

According to the NCDC, the 543 new cases were reported from 15 states- Lagos (180), FCT(86), Kaduna (56), Edo (47), Ondo (37), Kwara (35), Ogun (19), Rivers (19), Kano (17), Ebonyi (16) Enugu (16), Delta (7), Bayelsa (4), Bauchi (3), Abia (1).

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 13,806, followed by Abuja (3,297), Oyo (2,219), Edo (2,064), Rivers (1,565), Kano (1,447), Delta (1,444), Kaduna (1,267), Ogun (1,203), Ondo (1,001), Plateau (762), Enugu (721), Ebonyi (715), Katsina (713), Kwara (707),  Borno (603), Gombe (558), Bauchi (534), Abia (527), Imo (454).
