Narrating the scenario that led to her death, he said “When the news reached the faculty that she was involved in a fatal accident in the Ibadan metropolis, requiring a brain surgery, funds were raised from different quarters for her for the surgery in collaboration with the management of the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, where she had her internship.

“The surgery was successful initially, and we were expecting her to bounce back to live but it was around 10:17 pm we got the sad news that she didn’t survive it. Her remains had been laid to rest today in Ibadan by her colleagues”, he explained.

The 500-Level Pharmacy student described the late Salako as a very reputable pharmacist with lots of positive vibes, whom the younger colleagues look up to as a beacon of hope and encouragement. Her death is so painful to us at the faculty because we were expecting her back as she planned to return to the institution for lecturing.

Pharmanewsonline reports that a friend of the deceased, with her Twiiter handle as “@gracii_funso: had earlier announced her death on Twitter Tuesday morning, blaming it on poor management of road accidents in the country.

Her tweet reads: “If road traffic accidents were managed well, Folashade Salako best graduating student OAU Pharmacy School, winner of Shalina’s international Young Pharmacist Award wouldn’t have died this morning”.
