Pharm. Akin Akinnibosun is the current chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Plateau State, and managing director of Naliron Pharmacy Limited, a community pharmacy outlet in the heart of Jos, Plateau State.
Akinnibosun was born and raised in Lagos. After his elementary and secondary education, he proceeded to the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in November, 1996.
A man with an uncommon passion for community pharmacy practice, Akinnibosun had his internship training in 1997 at the Eko Hospital, Lagos State, and his mandatory national youth service (NYSC), at the Federal Medical Centre, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 1998.
After his youth service, the young and enthusiastic Akinnibosun moved to Northern Nigeria in a quest to experience life in the north, having experienced the west and the east. He also sought to develop his budding writing career in a more quiet and natural environment.
He ultimately settled down in Jos, and established his community pharmacy practice, Cedar Med Pharmacy, in February, 2002. This was later changed to Naliron Pharmacy Limited.
Since 2002, Akinnibosun has dedicated himself to improving the health and well-being of countless individuals, while also establishing himself as a committed member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), and other professional associations.
In his about 22 years of practice as a pharmacist, Akinnibosun, a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award (DSA), has served the PSN and the ACPN in various capacities, including serving in committees at the national and state levels. He was secretary of the then Nigerian Association of General Practice Pharmacists (NAGPP), Plateau State Chapter, from 2001 to 2003.
Akinnibosun has a strong passion for realising a new Nigeria where ethnic and religious sanity, transparency and accountability hold sway, leading to strong and sustained political and economic growth.
The Plateau ACPN boss is a pragmatic thinker, who loves adding value to lives. He is a non-partisan and detribalised Nigerian believing that only two tribes of people exist worldwide: good people and bad people.
His hobbies include teaching Mathematics (Some of his students have won several awards); writing; and running (he participated in the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon and won a medal), among others
A professional with a real passion for healthcare, Akinnibosun is very approachable and has consequently enjoyed excellent working relationships at different levels. He is happily married to Pharm. Diekola Akinnibosun, and blessed with children.
