It was a joyous moment on Tuesday for the oldest Lagosian Pharmacist, Tunde Hunponu-Wusu, as friends, family and well-wishers gathered at his residence in Gbagada Area of Lagos to celebrate his 88th birthday.
Pharm. Hunponu-Wusu, who is fondly called Caesar, by his school mates, owing to his love for literature books authored by Julius Caesar, is the first “Bamogun” of Lagos Island, a traditional title as medicine specialist, conferred on him in Lagos Island.
The birthday celebrant is also the first secretary of the Nigerian Association of General Practice Pharmacy. He was one of the pioneer pharmacists that started the association in 1980.

While speaking at the occasion, Pharmanews Publisher, Pharm. (Sir) Ifeanyi Atueyi, who is Pharmacy Elders’ Coordinator, applauded the celebrant, describing him as a prominent pharmacist who has played an active role in the advancement of the pharmacy profession.
